Appointment
Fees
The standard consultation fee for a 50 minute session in person with David is $200.
A fee discount may be applicable for full-time students, health care card holders, and individuals on a disability pension.
Medicare rebate
You may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $137.05 per session. This rebate can also be claimed for telehealth sessions. Standard Medicare rebates are currently available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. For more information about this, please see the following website from the Australian Psychological Society.
To be eligible for a rebate, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan arranged through your GP or a referral from a psychiatrist. Please bring your Mental Health Care Plan and/or referral letter to your first appointment or email them to David prior to the session ([email protected]).
Private health insurance
If you have private health insurance with a major fund, you may be eligible to rebates for psychological sessions. Please note that some health funds will only provide rebates when Medicare rebates (see above) are used up for the year. Please contact your private health fund to find out what you can receive.
Arranging an initial appointment
To commence working with David, please contact him by email or phone and share some of your situation, including what sort of issues you'd like to address and whether you have any preferences (e.g., type of therapy, session time/date/location). If you are initally reaching out by email, it can also be helpful to have a brief phone call with David before booking in an appointment to get a sense of whether it will be suitable to proceed. Once an initial appointment has been booked, you will be asked to fill out two standard forms and to send through any relevant documentation (e.g., GP referral letter).
